The Identity of Water Series - 2018

Silk-screen and Ink on 100% Cotton Revere Paper, 22 x 22, Ltd. Ed. 17.

“The Identity of Water” series employs the element of water is a metaphor to discuss racial issues in this world.  It was created by collecting samples of saliva from females (white and black) and males (white and black). I have photographed microscopically the samples of saliva and created silkscreen prints. Based upon a sampling of four people, I noticed a similarity between the African American Male and Female image; and similar contents in the sample of the African American and Caucasian male. Arguably, it could be stated that each was unique or remarkably the same.
